  • Two beach profiles (P2 and P3) were collected at S. Pedro do Estoril, Cascais (Portugal) as part of shoreline monitoring exercises. Survey was conducted in a situation of low tide and these beach profiles run perpendicular to the shoreline. Profile location and a description of points used are available in profile data (.xls).

  • Three-hourly forecast maps of wind direction and intensity at 10 meters in the Iberian Peninsula, generated with the AROME model at 12UTC for the next 48 hours. This visualization service includes the individual layers and also a multidimensional layer that brings all of them together.

  • Within Portugal's National Biological Sampling Project (PNAB) a set of activities are conducted in the collection, management and use of biological data, collected from the registered commercial fleet in mainland Portugal (fisheries-dependent data) and several research surveys (independent fisheries data). These activities allow the assessment of the state of fishery resources, population structure, distribution and abundance of resources, diversity and dynamics of biological communities associated with the fishery resources and biological studies (growth, reproduction). The crustaceans campaigns are usually held in June/July with the ship “Noruega” and cover the extension of the Portuguese coast of Alentejo and Algarve.

  • Identification and enumeration of harmful and potentially toxic phytoplankton species from water samples collected weekly in shellfish production areas, coastal and transition in mainland Portugal since the year 2014. These analyzes are part of the national system of monitoring bivalve mollusc production areas of IPMA and are considered in the zoning and in making decisions regarding their status. The data is collected for the requirements of Regulation (EC) No 854/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 29 April 2004.

  • Three-hourly forecast maps of air temperature at 2 meters in Kelvin in the Iberian Peninsula, generated with the AROME model at 12UTC for the next 48 hours. This visualization service includes the individual layers and also a multidimensional layer that brings all of them together.

  • Digital archive of the analyzes of the surface charts of 00 UTC and 12 UTC, held in IM and IPMA Weather Forecast Center since October 2015. In the surface analysis charts, the isobars are filled up every 5 hPa, the high pressure centers (A) and the low pressure centers (B). Frontal surfaces, crest lines, valley lines, lines of instability and convergence are represented according to the standards established by the WMO. This compilation is in digital format (pdf) with a total of 1094 charts.

  • Three-hourly forecast maps of total column water vapour in kg m-2 in the Atlantic region, generated daily from ECMWF data, with forecasts every 3 hours of the current day from 00h to the next 120 hours. This visualization service includes the individual layers and also a multidimensional layer that brings all of them together.

  • This resource provides geographic information which identifies the limits for the Natural Park of Sao Miguel Island in order to help a sustainable environmental management of all the protected areas on this island.
