Web feature service with the data of breeding birds in Portugal. These data provide information about distribution at certain moment in breeding species in mainland Portugal. In the cases where it is possible also characterize the abundance of national populations of these species. In the present service, the data relates only marine and coastal birds.
Web feature service with the Important Bird Areas, or IBAs, that are areas designated according to objective criteria defined by BirdLife International. They are priority sites for conservation of endangered birds. They are assumed internationally and identified through the application of scientific criteria. They are also considered strategic points for bird watching. The IBAs considered in this service refer only to sites located in marine and coastal areas.
Web feature service with the limits of marine and coastal biosphere reserves. The Biosphere Reserves are samples representing of marine, land or coastal ecosystems, promoting solutions to reconcile the conservation of biodiversity with its sustainable use. Internationally recognized (UNESCO Man & Biosphere Programme), designated by national governments and remaining under sovereign jurisdiction of the states where they are located. Throughout its zonation (core, buffer and transition) have to promote three functions: conservation of natural and cultural heritage, sustainable development, dissemination and knowledge. Only the core area requires legal protection and may correspond to a pre-existing protected area as a reserve or natural park. This service relates only to the marine and/or coastal biosphere reserves.
Web feature service within the framework of the SNIMar project, which consists of the georeferencing of a set of sites on the Coast of Mainland Portugal where seabird and aquatic birds can be observed.
This geographic service presents the results of monthly counts of wildfowl, that includes all species of ducks, geese, and swans, grebes, coots and cormorants in Portugal Mainland from October 1992 to March 1993. The original dataset includes 59 wetlands, however in this dataset only were included coastal wetlands with brakish waters.
Web feature services with the Sites in the biogeographical regions Atlantic, Mediterranean and Macaronesian, that contribute significantly to maintaining or restoring a type of natural habitat, from Annex BI, or species from Annex B-II, in a favorable conservation status, and may also contribute significantly to the coherence of Natura 2000 network or to maintain significantly the biological diversity in these biogeographical regions. This service only includes SPA's with marine, coastal and estuarine/laggoon environment.
This service was prepared for 3rd national report under Article 12 of the Birds Directive (2008-2012), corresponding to the range, through a grid 10 x 10 km, of the breeding birds listed in Annex I of the Birds Directive, in particular the marine species.
Web feature service with the information about the distribution and quantity of aquatic birds, including shorebirds, in order to meet the annual cycle of populations, fluctuations and trends of its population, as well as the importance of several wetlands for each species. This service relates to aquatic birds counts for the coastal wetlands.
This service was prepared for 3rd national report under Article 17 section 1 of the Habitats Directive (2007-2012), corresponding to the to the distribution, through a grid 10 x 10 km, of the natural habitats of comunity interest listed in Annex I of the Habitats Directive, particularly the marine and coastal habitats.
Web feature service with the Biogenetic Reserves Network of the Council of Europe in Portugal mainland. These reserves were integrated into the National Network of Protected Areas, so this dataset at this time has only a historical character. These service relates only to biogenetic reserves that are located in marine, estuarine and coastal environments.
