  • Identification and enumeration of harmful and potentially toxic phytoplankton species from water samples collected weekly in shellfish production areas, coastal and transition in mainland Portugal since the year 2014. These analyzes are part of the national system of monitoring bivalve mollusc production areas of IPMA and are considered in the zoning and in making decisions regarding their status. The data is collected for the requirements of Regulation (EC) No 854/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 29 April 2004.

  • Within Portugal's National Biological Sampling Project (PNAB) a set of activities are conducted in the collection, management and use of biological data, collected from the registered commercial fleet in mainland Portugal (fisheries-dependent data) and several research surveys (independent fisheries data). These activities allow the assessment of the state of fishery resources, population structure, distribution and abundance of resources, diversity and dynamics of biological communities associated with the fishery resources and biological studies (growth, reproduction). This resource shows the geographic distribution of deep-water rose shrimp abundancy index (nr. individuals/hour) registered during the DEMERSAL2008 campaign in September 2008.

  • Notifications concerning marine casualties and marine incidents occurring in the Portuguese territorial waters and in internal waters and with Portuguese flaged vessels in any part of the world.

  • Delimitation of portuguese coastal shellfish waters, according to the Law nº 236/98 and the European Directive 2006/113/EC concerning the protection of the aquactic environment and improvement of water quality in order to support shellfish (bivalve and gasteropod molluscs) life and growth and thus to contribute to the high quality of shellfish products directly edible by man, as well as the evaluation of the quality of coastal shellfish waters - Conformity according to Directive 113/2006 / EC, excluding the metals silver (Ag) and Arsenic (As), and fecal coliforms.

  • The portuguese national seismic network consists of a large and varied set of seismic stations comprising sensors of various types (broadband, short and strong-motion), high dynamic acquisition systems and real-time data transmission or near real-time through satellite and internet (mobile and fixed). The purpose of this device is the monitoring and surveillance of seismic activity throughout the national territory and surrounding areas, as well as to contribute to the seismic monitoring on a global scale and as an early warning system for tsunamis.

  • The national network of weather stations allows for vital weather data for the weather forecast with an adequate geographical coverage (about 1000 km2 / station) for weather monitoring the synoptic and mesoscale scale and climatological studies, including the use of energy resources (solar , wind and water) and support for micro-climate studies. Part of this network stations are automatic, recording every 10 minutes the main weather elements and elaborating automatically messages in code form that are sent periodically to IPMA's headquarters and disseminated internationally. The main weather elements observed are: atmospheric pressure, temperature and relative humidity, intensity and direction of the wind at various altitudes, precipitation, air temperature 5cm and soil temperature, solar radiation and lightning.

  • Location of the sampling stations considered in the analyzes from IPMA's Microbiology Laboratory included in the National Bivalve Molluscs Monitoring System.
