  • Marina Areas correspond to the vector delimitation, using photointerpretation, the area occupied by the port infrastructure. The vectorization was based on the orthophotomaps produced by the Regional Secretariat for Science, Technology and Equipment, at 1:5000 scale to the islands of the eastern and central groups and orthoimagery obtained from satellite images on the same scale to the western group. They served to support the vectorization of the ports areas delimitations included in the Integrated Coastal Marine Management plan (POOC).

  • This dataset contains the Traffic Separation Schemes (TSS) for navigation safety that have been defined along the Portuguese coast, respectively Cabo da Roca TSS and Cabo de São Vicente TSS. It also includes the Area To Be Avoided (ATBA) of Berlengas.

  • The delimitation of the Port Jurisdiction Areas covers the land and sea areas, Berths and outside anchorage areas of franchise and trade. The Azores Ports Network is managed by Portos dos Açores, SGPS, S.A. The delimitation of the jurisdiction areas was approved by the Regional Legislative Decree No. 24/2011/A, of 22 August.

  • This polygon dataset contains Search and Rescue Regions (SRR) attributed to Portugal (Areas of responsibility of the National System for the Maritime Search and Rescue). These are established marine regions where Portugal is responsible for providing search and rescue of people in danger.

  • Inland Electronic Navigational Chart (IENC) means: the database, standardized as to content, structure and format, for use with inland electronic chart display and / or information systems operated onboard of vessels transiting inland waterways. An IENC is issued by or on the authority of a competent government agency, and conforms to standards [initially] developed by the International Hydrographic Organization (IHO) and [refined by] the inland ENC Harmonization Group (IEHC). An IENC contains all the chart information necessary for safe navigation on inland waterways and may contain supplementary information in addition to that contained in the paper chart (e.g. sailing directions, machine-readable operating schedules, etc) which may be considered necessary for safe navigation and voyage planning.

  • De acordo com o art.º 5º do Plano Rodoviário Nacional (Decreto-Lei nº 222/98 com as alterações introduzidas pela Lei nº 98/99 de 26 deJulho, pela Declaração de rectificação nº 19-D/98 e pelo Decreto-Lei nº 182/2003 de 16de Agosto) "A rede nacional de auto-estradas é formada pelos elementos da rede rodoviária nacional especificamente projectados e construídos para o tráfego motorizado, que não servem as propriedades limítrofes e que: a) Excepto em pontos especiais ou que temporariamente disponham de faixas derodagem distintas para os dois sentidos de tráfego, as quais serão separadas uma da outra por uma zona central não destinada ao tráfego ou, excepcionalmente,por outros dispositivos; b) Não tenham cruzamentos de nível com qualquer outra estrada, via férrea ou viade eléctricos ou caminho de pé posto; e c) Estejam especialmente sinalizados como auto-estrada."
