Reserva da Biosfera do Porto Santo

Reserva da Biosfera da Ilha do Porto Santo é uma área reconhecida pelo UNESCO, no âmbito do Programa Man and the Biosphere (MAB), que visa a conservação da biodiversidade, a promoção do desenvolvimento sustentável e o apoio à investigação científica, educação ambiental e valorização das comunidades locais, integrando ecossistemas naturais e atividades humanas de forma equilibrada. É constituida por três níveis de zonas: Núcleo, Transição e de Tampão.
